PARIS,
France -- The World Intellectual Property Organization
(WIPO) and the Institut National de la Propriété
Industrielle of France (INPI) are
pleased to announce the 6th Global Congress on Combating
Counterfeiting and Piracy that will be held in Paris,
France, 2-3 February 2011.

Venue-
The Congress will be held at the ‘’City of Sciences
and Industry’’, in conjunction with the international
exhibition on counterfeiting and piracy. The exhibition
runs from April 2010 to February 2011, culminating with
this year's Congress.
Programme
- Participants at the
Congress will explore capacity building and innovative financing
towards more efficient IP enforcement, the importance of
measuring the impacts of counterfeiting and piracy, the
role and responsibilities of intermediaries, policy Issues
pertaining to the destruction of infringing goods costs,
health and safety issues, improvements in supply chain management,
the links between enforcement of IP rights and sustainable
development, building respect for IP through competition
law and Corporate Social Responsibility. Through these discussions,
the Congress hopes to shape a balanced approach to the rights
of IP holders, he needs of governments and consumers and
the costs of enforcement to governments and rights holders
alike.
